Has or did anyone take Celexa during pregnancy?

I stopped as soon as I got a positive test. Was only taking 10-15 mg.

Is it safe to take around 10mg?

I'd double check with your doctor but I took Lexapro all through my pregnancy with DS. I met with a specialist who said that it's safer in the long run for the baby if a mom who needs anti-depressants stays on them.

I got it for anxiety. Turns out that doc didn't know what she was giving me. That's a anti depressant. It still helps though.

No worries your doc knew what she was doing. Celexa is often prescribed to treat anxiety, my MIL was on it for a couple of years. You normally cannot just go off it like that, it can make your anxiety issues worse.

I dunno how it is if your pregnant but normally your body needs to be weaned of by like taking 3/4 of the dose for a while, than half for a while and finally a quarter for a while before going off it. (this means cutting the pill normally). Depends how long you've been taking it.¸

Good luck.

I haven't been to her in 2 yrs. I asked for anxiety meds. Thought that's what she gave me. I was talking to my bro a month or so ago and he asked about it. He said that's for depression. I was like um I don't need med for that. I just have bad anxiety at times. Now that I look back, I remember my follow up visit for the med. I was excited cause I was calmer and no heart palpations. She didn't really listen when I was explaining. Yea, I'll never go back.

I did wean myself. Took 20mg every other day for a week or so and 15mg the other days. Then dropped to 15mg and 10mg. Now,I'm at 10mg. But have only taken it once(5mg or so) since I got a positive test. We are waiting for obgyn to call us back. I'm sure Monday we will get the appointment for November when they have availability. I'll ask her about meds.
