There is not just one blood test that will show PCOS. But having a good complete blood work up can definitely help determine if you have it or not. Not every PCOS diagnosis has the same problems. There is such a variety of different things that come into play with PCOS. For a true diagnosis you have to have a few different lab test come back abnormal, but not everyone will have the same test come back abnormal. If you are questioning this as being possible for you I would suggest talking to an OB or even an endocrinologist to see if they can run a few test for you.

The list of tests includes:
- Fasting insulin
- Fasting glucose
- Testosterone

I also had these done but not sure if it was to test for PCOS or something else:
-FSH
-Prolactin

You would also need a vaginal ultrasound to check for cysts on your ovaries, even though you can have PCOS and not have cysts.

I think there are more blood tests that I am forgetting now, but those are the basics For my diagnosis it was the scan, the testosterone test and insulin test that came back abnormal.

Speak to your doctor about it, it's definitely not something you want to leave untreated if you do have it! I waited almost a year before I got help and ended up gaining a huge amount of weight in that period. Good luck!

I had an ultrasound at my doctor (i had a big cyst last cycle so she wanted to recheck it) and the big one was gone but there are multiple small cysts this cycle so she ran some blood tests(she said she was going to check for PCOS) ..they took like 3 or 4 tubes of blood...i have acne..the cysts.. irregular cycles & weight gain...my results aren't back yet i'm going crazy
