hey girls....

so Im 11dpo today and got a bfn this morning. Probably will have yet another failed month. My RE said that if I dont get pregnant this cycle (3rd on clomid), i have to come in and have an HSG and DH will have to get an SA. He never had one because he has a child (previous marriage) and he also got me pregnant last june, plus I was having PCOS/hormone issues so my RE figured it probably wasnt him. but now that 3 months of clomid have failed (well this month im not SURE yet but... most likely), he will have to get tested.

so anyway, i am so scared of getting an HSG. I had the saline ultrasound done 3 months ago and it really hurt! So I am sure the HSG will hurt too. any thoughts from anyone who's done it?? Im so scared on top of being so freaking DEPRESSED...

I hAve had one, but it was done under general anesthesia when I had my lap. I am sorry I can't offer you much advise. I just wanted to wish you luck and I hope you get the answers you are looking for.

I just had one done at CD 10 or 11 of this cycle. It was not bad at all and just felt like intense period cramps for 45 seconds. This has been the stickiest bean I've had so far and it was same cycle a HSG.

I would suggest going in 2-4 days before I if you can so tha your cervix is a little open, which will cause less pain.

I dreaded getting it done, but it really wasn't that bad. I took four David's before my appointment and already had a pad in place. My RE was going to give me a shot to numb my cervix and I opted to not do that. I hate needles and the idea of getting a shot in my cervix freaked me out.

Once you get it done, you'll be glad that you got it done and over with.

I will tell you that I had some pretty bad period cramps for a week or so after the procedure and was afraid I had some infection, but I was told it's normal

While I still have everything crossed for this cycle, I hope you get some of that magic HSG dust and get your BFP from it! (if you even need it )

I don't want to be negative at all, but my HSG that I had done 2 years ago hurt VERY bad and I wasn't expecting it to hurt like that at all. I also bled pretty bad after too and had bad cramps, so I'd bring a pad. I'll be having another one done in about a week with my Laparoscopy and I'm very thankful that I'll be under anesthesia.Sorry, I hope it doesn't scare you, but I wanted to let you know so you don't freak out like I did.

Sam, lol I don't know like anyone's names so don't feel bad.

I've never had one done but I don't think it would be weird to bring your DH. Support of any kind always helps.

I have had one done before as well. I was not under anesthesia, but they did advise me to take Tylenol before the procedure. I was really nervous, but I had it done on Halloween day and the nurse was dressed like "Thing 1", which was kind of weird, but put me at ease. The procedure was not comfortable by any means, but it wasn't horrible either. I remember having bad cramping for the remainder of the day, but bleeding was very minimal. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

I have had 2. I was really nervous and that probably made it seem worse than it really was. It was like a really strong period cramp /contraction that brought tears to my eyes but it is very quick. It's uncomfortable but it not unbearable. You'll be fine!!
