I've been charting my cm, temp, and cervix position for a while but have a question, one of many, about all of it. Typically, based on my bbt, I think I ovulate around cd 9,and my cycles are 31 days long. My temp jumped 0.6 degrees on cd 5 then went back down. I noticed I had one day of egg white at cd 8 then it was back to sticky the next day and it was sticky prior. My cervix has been high since and I'm now on cd 14. At cd 11 my temp dropped 0.5 deg then was back up the next day and has been right around 97.4. I really don't know what the up down and the back to sticky cm is. I thougbt I should have some watery, then egg white, or something indicating I was approaching ovulation. And my temps don't seem to match up, I also didn't have a drop. I'm really confused and getting flustered with all of this. Just when I think I've got it and know my body something changes.
A few extra things, my temp has lingered at 97.4 aside from the one raise and drop. And when I said "I didn't have a drop" I was referring to pre ovulation, if that really is what the egg white was implying. ..hope that helps.

If your cycles are 31 days long, it's really unlikely that you're o'ing around cd9. It is very rare for a woman, even women with fertility issues, to have a luteal phase (the part of your cycle after ovulation) more than 13-14 days long. And if there is a luteal phase defect, it tends to be on the short side, not the long side. So, I'd guess that you ovulate closer to day 15-17. Also, 97.4 is pretty low (though not unheard of) for a post-O temp. As far as CM goes, it can change back and forth up to O time. Just keep looking for watery or egg white. If you're older, you may not see much. I have sticky or creamy cm up until the day of O then I get just a little bit of watery or egg white. There's no predictable pattern leading up to it.
Do you have a link to your chart? How many cycles have you been temping?
I agree with what Michelle wrote. My average cycle is 29 days and I typically O around CD13 but I've O'd as easily as CD10 and as late as CD16. My CM can go from nothing to watery right after AF is over, back to creamy. Then closer to O, it gets watery and EW.
Thanks everybody, I'm glad I got the insight but it makes me just as confused since what I thought may be happening probably isn't happening. I've been using an app, and it that's what it has been telling me. I've been charting since March when I came of my bc so I guess that's not that long. I haven't tried opk's yet, but I just may try. My temps typically are low, for a while they would get as low as 94. I started taking half a pill of a thyroid herbal supplement since my mom has had issues, and between the two of us we thought it may be a good try. My average before a month of the supplement was 96, so 97.4 for me is pretty darn good. I don't think I've ever reached above 98. Give me a little bit, I'm going to try to post my charts I just have to figure out how. I would love to have someone take a look and tell me what you think.
I also just had ewcm! I'm very excited for this and did the water test and everything just to be sure. So, previously when I thought I had ewcm could have been sperm. Now this means in the next few days I'll be ovulating, right? Gonna go get on the baby dance! Lol, jk, jk. Kinda.
There still isn't much of a rise yet. Just keep BDing everyday or EOD. It was hard to see your chart up close since I everything looks so tiny.
FX'd you catch that egg this month!
Trisha_Guce ovulation calendars usually aren't very accurate for most Ladies. If I were to go by one I would miss my O by 5 days every cycle. I tend to ovulate earlier then what is predicted with an ovulation calendar.
A place that might help you with your charting.. I use Fertility friend, I love it most days.. It has a course you can take for free that gives you the ins and outs of charting, and interpretation of it..
