Hey y'all!

So about a month ago, I had a really bad bladder infection. Well when I was put on the antibiotics, the nurse practitioner also prescribed some progesterone because we have been off and on trying for two years. I have irregular cycles, always have, so she wanted to regulate my cycle and help me ovulate. Very excited that I finally get a little help! However, I'm a little nervous. I know I am supposed to ovulate now. I started the pills on day 14, I take the pills for 14 days. Baby dance every other day during those two weeks.

Here are my questions:
1. Will it work the first time? I mean is it like other medicine in that it takes a couple cycles to work, or will it help get me pregnant the first time? I mean I know realisticly it probably won't work the first time, but is it supposed to?

2. I have looked at symptoms of ovulation, but what happens to y'all? I am feeling bloated, kinda blah, I have sticky glue like cervical mucus, and back pain...not like lower back cramps, like kidney area pain, but not intense...just kinda blah. Haha.

3. What are the pros/cons of taking this progesterone? I've heard it can also help your breasts grow...fact or fiction?

Thanks in advance ladies!

I've never heard of being given it before you've confirmed ovulation. I've always been instructed to take it after I believed I ovulated.

I usually dont ovulate at all. She thinks I have too much estrogen so she wanted to level my hormones to force ovulation.

Have you had your levels taken on Day 3 to evaluate and monitor your estrogen levels? Progesterone isn't necessarily going to balance out your estrogen levels. It can help with support in not having your progesterone drop too early after ovulation but it will usually stop you from ovulating if you take it too early.

I would say you might need your day 3 bloodwork done before you make any more decisions. Progesterone definitely isn't a quick fix for sure and it's not something you can bank on balancing other hormones if they are out of whack, other than helping balance the actual progesterone itself
