Is anyone here allergic to cheap metals like the buttons on your jeans? I am, but it's strange because I've been like this all my life but this week it has gotten really bad. I'm going to have to put medical tape over all the buttons including the tiny ones on the pockets. Clear nailpolish doesn't work for me.

No, but I am allergic to fake gold. I break out into a rash if I have it on.

Now THAT'S funny!!!!

I am allergic to any metals that are not real gold or sterling silver... but only if they are IN me (meaning piercings - nothing kinky ). Though my ears are particularly sensitive, because they will even react to clip on ear rings... though I can wear necklaces, rings and bracelets made of cheap metals (though I prefer not too)!

My son has a nickel allergy (which is what the buttons on jeans and clothes are made of).

He has several other allergies (including lanolin), and takes zyrtec for them, and singulair as well. (He also has seasonal allergies).

An allergist could help you out. SOme allergies get worse with age, others get better. Chances are, though, that it wont go away if its just appearing now.

It sucks though I have several allergies as well (and sensitivities).

I've had this all my life. When I was a baby, my mom had to sew on peices of cloth over the little buttons on my onesies. Awww!

Yeah, you should have seen my face when dh bought me 1 karat each diamond earrings last year for my 30th b-day and I had a bad reaction...I was like, you cheap b*stard...ooops on me, they were white gold and that's what I had the reaction to had to get yellow gold, I like the look of white gold but I guess the alternative is platinum and unfortunately, I don't have P-Diddy's budget

I can't wear fake gold ear rings and I have a problem with some bandaids. Like the kind at the hospital. It leaves a mark where the bandaid used to be.
