I need some positive stories. I was told that since I just went off of bcp's it can take 3-6 months for my cycle to regulate itself and that I probably won't even ovulate. How many of you know people that have gotten pregnant right off of bcp's??? Thanks in Advance for the encouragement.

I can't help you with this. I have been off BCP for 3 years and we aren't going to TTC until January. But I did want to wish you luck on your TTC journey

I can't tell you from experience, the pill made me sick. But, my friend went off hers at the end of June (a few years ago), and conceived by the end of July. Everyone is different sweetie, but it can happen. I would suggest charting and/or OPK's so that you know whether you are ovulating yet or not.

Good luck

I've heard of people who have gotten pregnant right after stopping the bcp. So it does happen. It could happen to you. Hasn't happened for me yet, though. I stopped bcp in May and am now starting my 4th month ttc #1. But I think my cycles are relatively regular. I've had 30, 29, and now a 26 day cycle. And I do believe I'm ovulating since I get o pains and ewcm. Everyone is different...you could get pregnant right away or it could take a little while. Just be patient. I know that's been the hardest thing for me. I just assumed that I would stop my bcp and get pregnant right away. Good luck to you!

You'll definitely know more once you have at least one cycle under your belt...it's very difficult to discern any kind of pattern or "what is normal" for you without some history. Once you have a cycle in, you should be able to tell whether you ovulated, and what the length of your luteal phase is. I don't think I ovulated the month after my m/c, and it was driving me nuts not knowing, so I bought a fertility monitor. I know a lot of the other girls use OPK's to know for sure. If that's something you'd like/are willing to try, there are places online that you can get them at pretty good prices.

You can definitely get pregnant right away - but i'm not that lucky. I am going into my fourth month now. My periods are fairly regular, but i dont think i am ovulating. I am temping this month to find out - if not i'm off to the doc cause waiting 4 months is long enough!!

Hi! After going off bcp...I had 1 af, then I was pregnant. My best friend just went off hers and the same thing happened and she's been on the pill for about 8 years. Everyone is different though...it may happen quickly and it might take longer. Just try to stay positive and like crazy Good luck!

Thank you for positive stories. I just love knowing that it may happen. But I am not getting my hopes up.

I agree - everyone is different. With my son i got PG while ON the pill, and now Ive been off since beginning of June. (Second real cycle TTC).

ANd right now - im 5 days or so late, and still testing BFNs.

So... youll find out after coming off. Keep in mind - if you had irregular cycles before going on BCP, youll likely end up with the same. I o'd the very first month off of BCPs, but it can take appx 3 months/cycles or more for your body to get regular (whatever regular is for you) after BCPs

Good luck!

Lala...

I got pregnant right after stopping the pill. After the patch it took 3 months to get pregnant, then I had a m/c and got pregnant right after that. I guess that I am very fertile!!
