I'm pretty sure in the 'Dude where's my cervix?' thread it said that your cervix is supposed to be low after Oing but is it supposed to be low all the way to next Oing?
I'm due for AF on Friday or Saturday and my cervix is still pretty high...
What does that mean?? anything?

Mine usually crept down til AF and in the middle of AF plummeted. Um, it also just had a mind of its own, going wherever in my vagina it saw fit, being as wet as it wanted to be, and opening and closing like a fish mouth. It was pretty weird.

Some womens cervix progresses back down more slowly than others, but it will be at its highest around O time.

Remember, that your hormone levels have a lot to do with it, so if youre hormone levels are still coming down, your cervix will still be working its way down

Hey, I'm new here - but to add to this Cervix Question:
What does a "pregnant cervix" do? How is it positioned? Is this
a tell-tale sign of pregnancy? Thanks!

Did she show Diane? Sorry, I couldn't figure out if she arrived, or if that was because of the responses?

In early stages of pregnancy (right before you would normally see AF, and for a short while afterwards), the pregnant cervix can unfortunately do whatever it likes. For some PG women, it stays high, for others it drops down before going up again. It's also different for everyone in a non-pregnant situation. I did hear that if yours is consistently low each cycle just before AF, that you *may* be able to consider it a symptom if all of a sudden it is high before you expect AF. I couldn't find any reliable source that backed that up though. Sorry, that's probably not the answer you were looking for!

In what I've read, the position of your cervix is not indicative of pg. Af hasn't shown so hang in there. AF

So what is the point of even checking your cervix???? It is different for every woman and can vary from month to month. It can be low even if your pregnant and high if your AF is here, so what's the point? Am I missing something?

When the cervix is high and soft is when you are the most fertile. This is why most women check their cervix. If you are pregnant it will remain high throughout the pregnancy, however because all of our bodies are different there is no set amount of time in which the cervix will rise if you are pregnant. That's why they say you cant use the cervix to determine a pregnancy. Some women's cervix won't raise until well after they have tested positive on an HPT..

I have found that your cp doesn't really count for anything bc last
cycle which ended in af it stayed high all the way til literaly 1/2 a
day before af was due. This time my cp droped right after Oing
which it usually stayed high for me and it was back and forth between
medium and low and the day I took the test I checked it again and
it was back up to medium. So anyways I don't know that it means
anything just bc it can change position just by having a bm or excersizing.

The only point of checking your cp is to see when you O bc this is
when it will be at its highest point but you also have to watch for
other signs of O. It is always good to know your body though and
checking stuff like cp is good so that you get to know how your
body works.

Cervical position is used as an indication, but is not intended to be the sole sign of ovulation/fertility.

It should always be used in conjunction with checking Cervical Fluid at the very least.

The Fertility Awareness Method says to use BBT and Cervical fluid with Cervical position as an optional backup sign to verify fertility.
