So this cycle I thought I'd try something new & have heard lots of good things about the Instead soft cups. I'm not O'ing yet (but should be within a couple-few days). Last night, we BD & I figured I should use one & at least "practice" & get used to it before the *critical time*..just in case I made a mistake, I could fix it now when it doesn't matter so much. So....I used it last night after we BD. Put it in around midnight & took it out when I got up around 9:45am this morning. Just wondering, for anyone who's used them, how long do you leave your's in for? I know it says not to leave it in for more than 12 hours but do you take it out & put another one in? I'm just trying to do everything *by the book* this month. Last month I really thought I was pg; I thought we'd timed BD well & it was really tough when I'd had so many signs & then only to get AF anyway. I just really want to make the most of this month. DH is really really on board this month too whereas I think the last couple of months he was a little more hesitant (even though he originally brought up TTC). I know we haven't been ttc as long as others, but it's our 3rd month & it's hard to go through the whole 2WW, waiting to O, trying to time BD right, etc & only to find you haven't succeeded. I really want this to be our month. Wanted to try Pre seed this month too but I didn't order it in time (forgot). Not using KY or anything so I'm hoping "nothing" will be just as good as the Preseed.
So I was just wondering...for those who've used the Instead cups, how long do you leave it in & do you change it & put another back in? Just want to make sure his swimmers really have a chance to stay up there & make their way up the tract. When I did take it out today, there was some of his stuff in there, but I'm hoping that's normal. It didn't seem to be as much as if I'd had any leakage. Hopefully if I O early or last night counted towards anything, there was enough there for us to succeed. Still not sure how much is enough! lol
Alexandra Sivan, anxiously awaiting her little brother
I leave it in for the full 12 hours then remove it, I don't bother putting another one in because I figure the healthy sperm have done all that they can do and what is caught/left in the instead cup are the leftovers. Hope that helps
I used them to help concieve both my kiddos. Here is what I did...we would BD and when dh was ready, I would have him "go" directly into the cup so I wouldnt lose any. I would also make sure to have an orgasm since it technically increases your CM and it helps to suck the spermies into the cervix. Also, I would leave it in for 12 hours. Also, we followed the Sperm Meets Egg Plan with Preston and it seems to have worked as well.
Now, keep in mind, I did have to take Clomid to O but I truly think all these things helped.
