Hi everyone!
This is my first post here and what a lovely site! Its great there are places online where women who have things in common such as pregnancy, or wanting to get preg, or mommies can all talk and advise each other.

I have a few questions and would be so happy if someone could help?
Now im looking to get pregnant with hubby, But Ive never had a "regular" period, would that make it more difficult, and how would I time ovulation?
Is there a certian temp your body is when its time to concieve?
If I take a pregnancy test say, 1 week after intercourse and i AM oregnant, will a pregnancy test detect it that soon, even before my missed period?
IS the intercourse supposed to be ON the ovulation day? the day before? what? and is there any truth to sexual positions that increase chances of either gender of baby? like a little girl?!?!?
I plan on visiting this site regularly, and i have 5 kids myself, two sets of twins! But all were "surprises", never actualy "tried" for one. So id be glad to put in any input i can!
Thanks in advance!

First of all Welcome!!!! It is great here!

Some women will temp and chart, or use OPK to accurately determine ovulation. You can also average your cycle lengths and go by the average. There are pros and cons to all those methods.

Is there a certian temp your body is when its time to concieve?

There is a great book called "Taking Charge of Your fertility" That can help you with charting and temping. Basically you temp every morning first thing and figure out your coverline. WHen you have a drop in temp you are ovulating and then the temp goes above your coverline and stays there til AF shows up. Everybody has different temps so the book is useful and www.fertilityfriend.com is a good resource aswell.

If I take a pregnancy test say, 1 week after intercourse and i AM oregnant, will a pregnancy test detect it that soon, even before my missed period?
Probably not, but some people get BFP before they miss AF. Most women don't get a BFP until AF is late.

DR's recommend Intercourse every other day throughout the cycle, that way you are sure to hit Ovulation day. You should BD on the day you have EWCM (Eggwhite Cervical Mucous) Sperm can live up to 5 days in those conditions

Welcome to JM NORA!

Thats amazing that you have 2 sets of twins..truly blessed!
Fo you I would get an OPK and try that to detect ovulation! They say its best for
the man to be on top to conceive..but remember to enjoy TTC!

Good Luck!
