A couple of questions for you, did you have a real AF in between this and the last one, and did the doctors check your levels until they were less than 5? If the doctors office made sure they were below 5 then it is more than likely a new pregnancy, if they didn't there is a possibility some of the tissue stayed in and they would slowly cause an increase in HCG levels, hence why some women have to have d&c. If it's not a new pregnancy, and you don't need a d&c another possiblity is an ectopic, those will cause you to bleed like your are trying to miscarry but nothing will actually happen, and your levels drop some and then continue to increase. It's super hard to tell if you didn't have an AF, I hope it's a good one this time!
I would be very surprised if it was ectopic from the original pregnancy, she would be like over 2 months because she would have been around 4 weeks originally (she says 2 weeks in her post BUT the first 2 weeks of pregnancy that they count is from period to ovulation, and you aren't really pregnant yet). By now an ectopic would have been known.
Not sure about the tissue thing, I would think that it would cause other issues. Like if you retained tissue of a non-viable pregnancy, I wouldn't think that HCG levels increasing would be the key sign. Wouldn't you like hemorrage after all this time? I could be wrong on this one, I have no experience here, but I just think it's a long time to carry retained tissue and have no sign of it.
Also, I am doubting that it's the original pregnancy that kept growing. It's possible, I was told my son was a missed miscarriage and they tried to get me to take a pill to "clean out" my system and he was perfectly fine. But if you were that far along, I would expect a DARK pregnant line on the test.
I hope you get some good answers with the blood work. Keep us posted!
Thanks to *Sharon* for the siggy <3
So I went and got a copy without the doctor finding out. They didn't want to give me them until my appointment...and hcg is 264!! Definitely thinking its a new pregnancy. I will try go find out for sure tomorrow. As for the questions....my hcg level that they tested last during the miscarriage was 9. I'm almost positive that it got below 5 though, but there is always that possibility. I have no other symptoms of incomplete miscarriage, and AF that I'm missing right now would have been my first since then. I'm still worried but happy that hcg is higher than last time.
