Sounds awesome I talked to DH about it, and we'd definately be getting one. Being able to hear the heartbeat whenever is pretty cool.

Yeah, preferably use the doppler gel. Some people use lotion or even hair gel. I don't know about that...it would freak me out. I only heard my baby's heartbeat like twice with the doppler I bought. I hope this next time around I'll be able to get 9 months of use out of it (or well, 7 months really).

I got mine from ebay, its the sonoline B and we heard the hb at 8 weeks 4 days, thats the one I video taped. I still use my doppler and have been able to hear him moving and hiccup as well. I did not like the gel it comes with, so I use aloe vera gel instead and it works the same and smells nice, plus I think its better for my skin. Oh an its cheaper than ordering the gel. Cant wait for you to get it.

How well does a doppler work with a anterior placenta? Just curious... I know with my daughter i had an anterior placenta and couldnt feel her kick as much. Would that affect a home doppler?

How neat!!! I bought the hitech doppler I believe. With display. I love it!!!!
It is the most heart warming feeling when you can be at home and listen to your peanut. I think I was 10 weeks when I 1st was able to hear it. And it took me a good 20 minutes to find. It's a stinker to get.

Techniques I used: MOVE SUPER SLOW. And tilt the microphone almost to where it is at a 30 degre angle, or where it could be laying flat on your belly. To this day I get the hb alot quicker by doing that. Instead of having the microphone at a 90 degree angle.

Yay!! I always used store brand lube (like generic ky jelly), not the oily type the gel type. It was only around $2 a tube and lasted awhile. I never had much luck with lotion.

Just don't worry if you can't find it right away. Depending on the doppler, it may take a couple more weeks. Hope you are feeling okay. And time is going to fly by hun.
