My husband and I have been NTNP for about a year now. When I say I have irregular cycles, I MEAN irregular cycles (last period was July, one before that Feb, one before that in Dec '10, just to kind of give you an idea). Needless to say, I have no idea when I should be expecting a period, so no idea when to test. Last week I had one day of cramping, two migraines (not common for me), and my boobs have been sore/tender for about a week now. Usually my PMS lasts only 1-3 days before AF. I feel like I've been slightly more tired, but I think that's just me going crazy. I don't know what to take as a real symptom, and what to chalk up to being so baby-hungry. I did a few HPTs, but so far all have come up BFNs. I plan on doing a few more, maybe one at the end of this week and one next week? The problem is I have no idea when AF is supposed to rear its ugly head. How soon is too soon to have a blood test done? Does anyone know if Planned Parenthood charges for them (right now I don't have health care)?

I know I should see a doctor about the irregular cycles, but again, I don't have health care right now. Any advice or support you girls have would be greatly appreciated! :)

Well, being not sure of your O date, let's assume that you had sore bb's at the time you O'd as some women do. Then you'd be about 7 dpo. So, I think if you get your blood test in 4 days time things should be quite accurate by then.

I have irregular cycles too, and it took me a long time to get pregnant with my son. I think it took us about a year and a half to 2yrs to get pregnant. I was seeking fertility help and got pregnant. I am now pregnant again , and conceived naturally, but still went to Took us couple months with this one.

So my advice to you is, if you want to get pregnant quicker, go see a doctor.

If you can't get to a doc about your irregular cycles... you should at least maybe try to start tracking when you ovulate by temping or using OPKs when you get symptoms, etc. Its really hard to say when to test though, but I'd maybe just try to make it a weekly ritual or something. I don't believe planned parenthood offers blood tests at all but I could be wrong?
