Hi, I'm new to this. I have no idea if I'm posting this in the right area or not, but I'm posting it here anyway. Okay, so I ovulated between the 22nd and the 27th of December, and had unprotected sex on the 24th, 25th, and 26th. On the 6th of January, I had a very light spot the first and second time I used the bathroom, and nothing after that (I assumed it was implantation taking place). My period was due on the 9th, which didn't show up. So here's where I need help: I took a pregnancy test on the 5th that came back positive, took another on the 6th that also came back positive, and then used a different brand on the 8th that came back negative and the same tests as before that came back negative also. But everything I've read keeps telling me to test next week and not this week, but then again it also says it could be a chemical pregnancy, but chemical pregnancies take place before your period, right? At the very least, I would have bled more than I did on the 6th and I would have started my period, yeah? I don't know what to do or think. Any advice? And could I be pregnant?

Hey there. You are posting in exactly the right place Okay first of all, what brands of pregnancy test did you use and which were positive and which were negative. Also, did you take each test at the same time of day? And finally, how do you know when you ovulated (are you using ovulation tests or tracking cervical mucus, etc.)?
I will say that if a woman gets a true positive and then later gets negatives, it can often turn out to be a chemical pregnancy. However, you usually begin to bleed with a chemical pregnancy. And to clarify, a chemical pregnancy doesn't have to take place before the time of your period, though it often does.
After we know what kind of tests you were using, we may be able to provide more insight. Have you tested since the 8th? If you do decide to test again, just be sure to buy a test that uses pink dye and not blue. Blue dye tests are known for giving false positives.
I agree that it ultimately depends on the type of test that you are using. There are some that are simply more sensitive than others, which could be the ones you got positives on. If you can hold out waiting until next week, you are likely to either see AF show up or you might just get that BFP. Good luck!
I used an ovulation test thing lol. And the two tests I got a positive on were the Baby Test pregnancy tests that you can buy for a dollar at the dollar stores. Their sensitivity is like 25, then I took 2 clearblue easy plus tests that came back negative and then got confused thinking that maybe it WAS just the sensitivity, so I bought two more of the Baby Test tests and got a negative on those too. I used first morning urine on all of them except the negative on the Baby Test after the negatives on the clearblue, but I had waited like 5 hours (which was hard since I've been going to the potty a lot more often lately).
I haven't bled yet, except for the two spots that I assumed were due to implantation, and I haven't cramped at all, but my stomach has been twitching on the left side all day long. Is that normal? Has anyone else had twitching? I'm not sure lol.
And I bought another pregnancy test that I'm going to take in the morning to see if it comes back negative or positive. I'm waaaaay too anxious to wait until next week
If it comes back negative too, I think I will wait until Monday and then just get a blood test done to see if I am or not.
I would suggest if you can get a blood test done to do that because sometimes tests won't pick up HCG for ladies and then give them false negatives. It could have been a chemical but it never hurts to get double checked especially if you are pregnant now.
