Does anyone know how many dpo you would have to be to pick up a BFP on a dollar store test? The sensitivity on my test says 25mlU/ml. I'm 10dpo and used a dollar store test this morning got a BFN. I don't know if it is too soon to test with one of these test? Debating going and buying a first response but I have a huge feeling it will be a BFN. This whole waiting game is driving me insane!

It all depends on when you implant. If you didn't implant until 9 or 10 dpo, then it's too early for ANY test to detect the pregnancy. Some women implant even later than that! That being said, my experience with $ store tests is that they are pretty sensitive. During one of my pregnancies, they detected hcg just as early as the FRER.

They can be bad about evaps, though, so your best bet is to toss it after the time limit.

Try not to stress. It's still early. One of the girls here didn't get her BFP until the AFTERNOON of 11 dpo and she was testing the whole time. So you are totally still in the game.

I have seen some ladies have really good luck with the $ store tests but im not one of them. Also answer seems to be more sensitive than frer, answer always picked up my pgs before frer did and when frer finally decided to show a faint line, answer already has a really good line. As far as testing at what dpo, it depends on the amount of hcg you have, when I was ttc in October of 2010 I tested at 10 dpo in the morning and got a bfn and then in the afternoon and got a bfn and then that same night at 10 pm I got a faint bfp. My hcg was very low though, 3 days later it was only 24, so you imagine how low it was 3 days prior when the answer test picked it up.

My pg in February last year was picked up at 9 dpo in the afternoon with an IC, most internet cheapies didnt work for me but this one actually did, I backed it up with an answer at 11 dpo and a digi.
And the last thing is some women (like me) dont get bfp or strong lines with first morning urin, after researching it, it seems that the hcg will sit in the urin for so many hours during the night and then we actually reabsorb back into your body, so then you get either a bfn or a really faint line in the morning and a + later in the day. Hope that helps, and 10 dpo is still pretty early. With my first pg I didnt get a bfp til I was pretty late and even then it was really faint, but hes almost 12 now.
