Ok so this is probably ridiculous but I just need some other opinions and can't even talk to anyone IRL about it. So DH had a vasectomy done last Feb, while I was pregnant with Lilly. He never had his sperm checked though (even though I told him to a million times) Now we don't have insurance so he still hasn't. Anyway we were pretty certain it would work, why wouldn't it? And haven't used any protection since, even though we are sure about having no more kids. I was pretty sure it had worked since it's been 7 months since Lilly was born and we hadn't got pregnant. But now I'm 8 days late. My periods have been super regular since Lilly was born. I did test the day after I missed my period but DH got me the test and it was a blue dye even though i specifically said which test to get. The test was neg at the 10 minute mark, i looked at it again like an hour later and there was a small, thin line which i thought def was an indent and figured I had tested, was neg and so now my period would come. I have been extra stressed out trying to find a job and considering a big move, also I have been dieting since the first. Nothing crazy though, I think I have lost 7 lbs since the first. I wouldn't think that would effect my cycle. But you guys are the experts on this stuff.
As far as symptoms its so hard to say, you know when you think you might be pregnant and your mind decides to make you feel pregnant?
I did have a one time spotting of pink like a week before AF was due.
I had cramps the day AF was due and a few after, bad ones in my hips, KWIM?
I have been nauseous, at times... but usually only when I'm working overnights. Like I said I have been crazy stressed though.
The one thing that gets me is that I smoke (I always quit when preggo just can't seem to stay quit) and when I smoke I feel sick.
Lastly I have been sooo hungry, but what do I expect when I'm eating like 1300 calories a day.

So I am a total POAS addict and normally would have tested a ton of times. BUT DH is irritated that I think I'm preggo. He thinks I'm crazy or cheating since he had the vasectomy. He was irritated to get one test and said that I'm just really stressed out and to relax and it'll come. I have been really busy and haven't been to a store alone this week to get tests. Part of me feels like I shouldn't test though because it most likely is stress so testing would be a waste of $... what do you guys think??

I think you should get a pink dye test. Given that you looked at the test well after the allotted time to read it and blue dye tests are notorious for evap lines I wouldn't trust it. Even if you can get a $ store test just to try another test it might be a good idea.
Vasectomies are not always 100% and spotting a week prior to when you should have seen AF kind of sounds like implantation spotting.

I was actually worried as soon as I saw that little bit of pink, I was like hmmm... but I just put it out of my head. Yeah I guess I should probably just test with a $ store test. I tried to tell DH that they don't always work and he said they do 99.9% of the time, but I feel like we would totally be that .1%... On another note I was already late when I tested and have always got BFPs at like 11dpo with my kids. But again it was blue dye...

the dr will tell you in order for it to work they have to ejaculate a certain amount of times before all the sperm is out of them it is very possible to get pregnant after a man has had a vasectomy just ike when a woman gets her tubes tied sometimes things fail. I say test again if still negative could be the weight loss, with the stress messing ur cycle up

He did have it done a year ago and we are quite... umm... active.. lol but you are right they aren't 100% we have a couple mommies on here that got preggo after a vasectomy, right? I guess I will test and hope that it is just stress and weight loss... I just don't know when I can get to the dollar store! Now I'm nervous! You guys were supposed to say no way I really do think it's just stress, I have never been this stressed in my life. It is what it is I guess.

My guess is that you're probably fine BUT it would definitely be a good idea to take a pink dye test so you'll know one way or the other. Good luck!

The picture is really too blurry to see anything, but I agree that the thin line you saw later was more than likely an evap. As far as surgical sterilization failing, my friend's 5th baby (and only girl) was the result of a vasectomy failure. Her husband had to have the procedure done twice. I personally have had 2 pregnancies after a tubal ligation, both lost sadly.

I understand why your husband is irritated, but he needs to realize that unless he went back to be checked, there is still a chance of failure. It's more common than people think.

Tested when I got to work, dollar store was closed but got some answer test strips. Looks like I'm good! BFN for sure. I'm over a week late so I think if I were preggo it would be blaring by now! It's so weird my period has been so regular lately and now this! Ugh! AF needs to figure it out! Thanks for the opinions ladies
