Ok girls here is the scoop. Hubby had a vasectomy while I was pregnant with our 5th child 5 years ago. Went back for the 12 week check and was given the all clear, that being said we never gave the thought of pregnancy a seconds worry. Couldn't happen right? Well last month was a pretty active month for us I have a very regular 30 day cycle every month, same thing.Should have started Jan. 7th. On Jan 2 nd had light light spotting after sex red not brown. Then heavier spotting on the 4th that started out red then went to brown, lighter brown spotting on the morning of the fith and very light red and brown on the morning of the 6th. Nothing like my regular periods. TMI I know, just trying to get all of the facts in. Started having nausea on and off a couple days latter. I have had a headache for almost a month!! Had lower back ache for a couple of weeks, can't fasten my jeans, have had light period like cramping, my boobs have grown a whole cup size, I have crazy mood swings my face is breaking out, now I am having what feels like round ligament stretching mostly on my right side and I have a very small amount of red spotting when I wipe after sex!! In short if it weren't for the vasectomy I would swear I was pregnant!! I have taken three first response tests and all have been neg, but I have always been late to get a positive. Like 8-10 weeks. So do I just need to check myself into the looney Bin?? My next period is due 1/6/2012.

I don't think you're crazy but I do have a couple of thoughts

First of all, you've had five kids so you certainly know what pregnancy feels like And vasectomies occasionally fail. So is it possible? Yes.

Beyond that, sometimes our hormones can do weird things to us and give us symptoms that mimic that of early pregnancy. So I think that is possible, too.

With the negative HPTs, I would suggest going to the doctor and asking for a blood test. That should give you a reliable answer.

Lol! I'm thinking I'm crazy too! My dh got the big v done in may. I'm still nursing do my cycles have been off. The last three I have started spotting around 3 dpo til I start AF. Well this month I had the lightest pink tinged cm right around possible o time. (I stopped charting) Only when I wiped this one time. So life goes on. I haven't had any spotting but nips are sensitive, I'm broken out, tired, headachey, etc. and I had a bloody nose yesterday morning which I had with my last pregnancy prior to my BFP. Also a lil crampy. Also tons of creamy cm. AF is due soon. If I didn't know any better I would think I'm preg too! Lmao. This would be our fourth. Dhs sample got lost and never tested so we've just assumed so far so good we must be in the clear.
So I'm feeling rediculous too! Kup!!

Let's keep in touch. I am seeing my plastic surgeon today. Since we were done having kids I got "the girls" done 18 months ago, and they are killing me. My boobs never hurt like this with the other five so I want to get them checked out. He will prob do a blood test. I will let you know. Kinda excited, so gonna be a little sad either way. Did I mention that we have a vow renewal in Mexico scheduled in August. Lol

Lol oh no! I got my girls done two years ago then we changed our minds and had one more! Love them even after nursing! Best thing I ever did for myself! Def will keep you posted and you me! Def mixed emotions. Id live a fourth but dh would die! Lol.

Well had blood drawn after visiting my plastic surgeon. He said he really felt like it is a baby with all my symptoms. We will have numbers in the morning. I have to admit I will be pretty sad if it is negative. In my case there is no trying again next month. Fingers crossed, a miracle baby would be such a blessing!!

I thought I would let you both know that my sister got pregnant after her husband had a vasectomy so I believe you both could be pregnant. GL to you both I hope you get the answers you are waiting for soon and that they are positive.

Woke up with really bad pain in my lower right abdomen and some pretty heavy spotting. Period not due for 4-5 days. I need a drink!!!

Well, got blood results back. Less than 5 but present. So it looks like I was but that I am not anymore. Sonogram in the morning at 10:45. Still spotting with light cramping. I am soooooooo confused and sad.

"With the use of modern sensitive assays, it is now appreciated that virtually all normal human tissues produce the intact hCG molecule. hCG can be detected in the blood of normal men and women ... the source of this circulating hCG is the pituitary gland. The concentration of this pituitary hCG normally approximates the sensitivity of the usual modern assay, and for this reason, many laboratories will not report the presence of hCG unless the level is 10 IU/L or higher."

Translation: Every adult secretes a little bit of hCG into the bloodstreams from the pituitary (a gland that sits under the brain). The margin of error of the serum hCG test is somewhere between 2 and 10 IU/L (or mU/mL, same thing), and so some labs don't report any value less than 2, less than 5, or less than 10, because they can't tell the value exactly and most healthy people have about that amount.

So I'm thinking you probably are not or we're not pregnant , but please don't take this wrong, I am just trying to help you make sense of it. I went through similar emotions when I got my tubes tied after my son was born.. It was soooo bad that eight years later I had a tubal reversal and had my daughter. Hugs. Try to look forward the positive things like your vow renewal and your family.

I'm sorry hun! :/ I was hoping your were! I tested today and got a bfn. Lots of ewcm. Maybe I'm about to O. Or maybe it's nothing. :/ stupid permenant bc! Ugh! Will keep you posted if anything happens!
