I really need your help, i'm 30 yrs. My husband & I have been trying for a baby for about 13 months now. My periods are very regular and last for about 5 days, i have never missed a period. On 20-25th Dec 2011 i had my periods, However on 12th Jan i had what seemed to be a period, it was light and brownish and lasted 2 days ( on & off). Before this i had sharp pains on my lower left abdomen for about 2 days prior to the "period" with some bit of cramps. The next weeks that followed i had a stuffy nose esp morning hours and a feeling of tiredness, like i would get sick, including headache. My tummy is really bloated and has increased in size. I did a home pregnancy test on 30th Jan but it was negative. I have never been pregnant before so i'm really green in these things. What is happening to me, someone pliz help

What is the length of your cycle? Based on a 28 day cycle - If the first day of your LMP was 20 Dec, you should have ovulated around 2nd Jan, and your period due around 16 Jan. So the light bleeding on 12 Jan could have been implantation bleeding. However you should have been able to get a positive HPT by the 30th when you tested.

It is also possible that you ovulated later (stress, illness, etc can affect ovulation time) so perhaps the light bleeding was from ovulation.

If you are unsure and feel as though you may pg you may want to ask your doctor to do a blood test.
