I am wondering if anyone else is RH-? I am RH- and had experinced early signs of my body attempting to expel my pregnancy with my son who is our only child. I am 13dpo and I am wondering if it is hard to get pregnant again after having the rhogam shot for your first pregnancy. I took a test yesterday at 12dpo and I think it is positive so I am planning on making an appt to see about getting blood test to confirm, and then if I am I am wondering with RH factor if there is anything specific I need to do?

I am Rh- and it has never been the factor that hindered my ability to get pregnant. If you are pregnant now, there is nothing you will have to do. At week 28, they give you another shot. I haven't, of course, gotten it yet for this pregnancy. Should you start spotting though during a confirmed pregnancy then you have to notify the dr office and you'll have to get the shot earlier. Hope that helps!

Ditto. I, too, am Rh negative and I was able to conceive quickly after my first son so I don't think that's a factor. Good luck!

I'm so sorry. I'm not sure. I do know that my nurse told me that if I should start spotting/bleeding that I would need to contact them right away. I don't know if that was a factor or not, did your dr know that you are rh-?

The only way it affects pregnancy is if you never received a rhogam shot after another pregnancy or miscarriage. Your body could have built up antibodies, but if you did receive a shot, it shouldn't be an issue.

No, that would not have prevented it. The shot is given to protect future pregnancies. Did you get the shot after the miscarriage? Because that is necessary to protect any subsequent pregnancies.

Definitely call them. You only need it if you are RH- though.

That's interesting. I was given the shot after my chemical pregnancy (5 weeks). My doctor did say that it might not be necessary that early but that he'd rather be safe than sorry.

Oh, and now that I think of it, I got it after my 7 week miscarriage, too.

Maybe there are different schools of thought on when it becomes necessary.
