So, I am currently taking Loestrin 24. My last period was in October 2011. I have missed my period before while on this birth control, but never two months in a row and definately not three months in a row. Halfway through the month of November I had some brownish discharge. I have never had any spotting while on birth control. My first thought immediately went to implantation bleeding. My boyfriend and I do not use any other forms of birth control besides the pill. That November I did not get my period. Through the month of December I felt fine, so I thought it was just a fluke. But then again in December I did not get my period. Then came January...still no period. I kept taking tests and they all said negative. The only symptoms I had was hunger loss for about two weeks in January. When I was supposed to get my period in January all that came were cramps. And ever since then I have been experiencing lower and mid back pain. I've also been getting occasional cramps and have been very irritable. I took another test (a topcare) about two days ago and it was negative. I don't know what to do. I just graduated college and am currently looking for a job. I still have health insurance extended from college, but I'm worried about going to a doctor because they will send the bill to my mom, and I don't want her to know what is going on. If I am pregnant, I would be around 11 weeks 3 days. I don't know what to do. I'm thinking about just waiting to see if I start to get a bump or something. I just don't know what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome! I did a quick Google search on Loestrin 24 and found that a LOT of people report missing multiple periods while taking it. When you combine that fact with the negative pregnancy tests (which are usually quite reliable), I think you are just experiencing effects from the pill. Of course, it never hurts to get it checked out by the doctor, but I think you're probably fine. Hope that helps!

I was put on loestrin 24 to reduce the severity and length of my periods. You could very well be experiencing side effects of the pill.

Do you have a family planning center or a planned parenthood nearby? You can sometimes (most times) get free pregnancy tests there. You can also talk to some one there about this, possibly even over the phone.

Also, you should find out asap because taking the pill while pregnant is not good.

I don't have any experience with this pill, but I would definitely put a call in to the doctor just in case.

Is there anyway you could set up an appointment for an annual gyno appointment and talk to your dr about it there. Then on the billing it would show as just a regular gyno vs a prenatal appointment. Either way you should be seen, if you are pregnant, taking bc pills is harmful to the baby. Otherwise if not, maybe you body needs a change in bc. Good Luck!

I was on LoLoesterin Fe and I didn't get my period with the pill and it drove me crazy. If you are getting negative tests still you are probably just experiencing a fun side effect of that particular pill.

GL!
