hello, im a new member today,
ill start with a little about me,
im 27 me and my partner have been together for 11 years ,
we are trying to get pregnant
my last period was 23rd dec 2011, my periods have been reg for the last 3 years,
heres my confusion
i was ment to come on 20th jan but on the 16th jan i started spotting (brown coloured ) manly after using the loo when i wiped (sorry! ) not even enough to fill a panty liner, this went on til the Friday i did then bleed only half a day of red blood, 2 pads were filled then nothing after that day
i have read that this could be implantation bleeding?
i have done 4 hpt and all negative results
the last 2 weeks i have some discomfort in my lower tummy and went doctors he thought it might of been ectopic pregnancy, and did a blood test, he called later that evening and said the blood test was negative, the hcg levels was 5 mIU/ml? he has now booked me in for a scan but that could take a while and its sending me crazy not knowing,
i have been having head aches alot the last month and the last 2 weeks along with the lower tummy discomfort im having hip pain and back ache and bloating, looks as tho im 6months gone sometimes!! oddly pain in my legs down my thighs, like coldness and tingling ? no tender boobs tho seem bigger and nipples are sore but nothing like the pain before a period
does anyone have ideas what going off, my period is due 17th feb
do blood tests ever come back with a false reading ? could it be to early for the pregnancy to show up??

Anything up to 5mIU/ml HCG is usually considered a normal amount of HCG produced by the body, without necessarily being pg. Although it could be the start of a pregnancy and just low levels if you O'd much later.

But I would say the sooner you can get in for the scan the better. If you are not pg you could possibly have a cyst. Not to scare you, but a lot of what you wrote in the last few lines regarding symptoms, I could have wrote myself a couple weeks ago. I had a couple of cysts that burst, and the fluid in the cysts caused irritation and an infection in my tubes. This is treatable.

Either way I want to wish you GL and hope you get the answers you are looking for.

im quite lucky as its for this saturday 11th fab,
laura did what treatment did you have for your cyst?
i have read that doctors tend to just leave them well alone, is that a differant rule once a cyst has burst?
i tend not to read to much on the internet as its scares the hell out of me with the words cancer

Hi, good to hear you have a scan scheduled

I was lucky enough this time around that my body resolved the issue itself. I passed the cyst sacs, just had to take a 5 day course of antibiotic for the infection in my tubes that the fluid in the cyst caused.

Most ovarian cysts are harmless, but some may cause problems such as rupturing, bleeding, or pain; and surgery may be required to remove them. I have had laparoscopies for burst and twisted cysts. BTW most cysts are benign, so I wouldn't stress too much about cancer.

its hard not to worry but im thinking positive,
my pain in my lower tummy has faded now its just a dull pain in my legs and hips, aches when i walk far, or stood up for to long.

im back at work tomorrow just for few hours tho then weekend off,

i had my scan today,
he couldnt tell me anything tho, which annoyed me abit, he kept going over the same bit on my tummy left side just under my belly button
he said i have to wait a week and go back doctors for my results
he said he would have to look at the photos very closely,
my partner said he seen a black hole on the scan and it got his heart beating so fast he felt dizzy!! (men!! ) i couldnt look as my badder was so full,
i will keep updating any news as i know there are afew ladies going through the same thing,
and its good to talk when we are going through something like this, it helps xx

got my results back
nothing was shown up on my scan, no cyst's nothing but nornal,
i had small period 16th fab, only lasting til 18th again it was just spotting
going to have more blood tests
so im none the wiser to whats going off in my body :-(
will keep posting when i have more info to whats happening
