My husband and I have been trying to concieve baby #1 for months but no luck yet... I have irregular periods or at least that's what I call them. My cycle vary anywhere from the normal 28 days to sometimes skipping a month or two. This makes it very difficult for me to chart and track ovulation. I had my last period jan 10th. a week ago my husband told me he thinks I'm pregnant. I have had severe mood swings and my clothes have felt tighter, I started spotting 3 days ago and thought my period was starting early. It never got any heavier and I didn't even need to wear a tampon. It lasted until this morning off and on and it was a brownish sometimes pink color when I wiped. To me it sounds like implantation bleeding but I could just be wishful thinking. I took a HPT yesterday but it was neg. just want to know if maybe it was too early? Could this be it? and if so when should I test again?

Hi and welcome! For what it's worth, my husband swore I was pregnant immediately after we conceived our son. I didn't believe him until I tested a month later...lol.

Anyway, the spotting sounds quite promising and the mood swings are always a sign for me!

If it was implantation bleeding, I would expect that you could get a positive result within three days...which would be today, right? But it never hurts to wait a few extra days just to make sure you give it plenty of time. I know how disappointing those negatives can be!

Good luck and let us know what happens!

Well I was gonna test again today like you suggested but I noticed more spotting don't know if it's AF coming or what the deal is? I'm so confused by this spotting because I have never had it happen to me before... I only have one test left and I didn't want to waste it if this is AF. I guess I will keep waiting....

Thank you so much for your help!

Many women have spotting through their whole pregnancy. I hope you get you BFP.

It's certainly possible to have an odd cycle now and then so it could be the start of AF. I'll keep my fingers crossed, though, that AF stays away!!!

AF still hasn't started just keep having random spotting. It comes and goes. I'm still trying to wait to test again. I'm thinking the longer I try to wait either AF will show up or the better my BFP will be. But I'm not gonna lie this is driving me crazy!!!

Honey and I were trying for almost 9 months. My periods vary from 21 days to 41 days!

I had NONE of the pregnancy symptoms. It wasn't until I realized that I was 6 days late and had been having cramps for 2 weeks that I realized I was pregnant.

I'd wait to test until you've past or are on the day of your longest cycle. For example, my longest cycle was 41 days and I unknowingly tested that day and got a very clear positive.

Either way, stay calm and keep your mind off being pregnant. I sent myself into a hysterical pregnancy shooting hcg a couple years back. Seeing my empty uterus on the ultrasound almost killed me.

So, Just test on the day of your longest cycle and go from there.

Thanks for the advice I really appreciate it!

Just an update: AF still hasn't showed up, just random spotting every once in a while. I don't know why I'm having all this spotting it's never happened to me before. It's like when I first start my period really light and a brown color blood, so I think ok it's starting but then it's gone and no AF. At this point I'm a day late, but that's if my cycle is a normal length sometimes it's really long. Ive taken two tests and both were BFN. I'm doing better at not obsessing about it but i still think I just might be pregnant this time.
