For the last 6-8 months I have had irreagular periods. Some months AF hits 2-3 days late while other months its almost a week. Called my OBGYN she said its normal and not to worry?! I turned 32 last November. I am not on birth control and we don't use any form of it we are just "careful"

I noticed about 2 weeks ago that my bb's looked larger in my reflection as I was walking towards a glass door. I just thought wow this shirt is SWEET! LOL. DH does not want another child, I do. So I went home that night after work and jokingly said, "do my bb's look bigger to you?" I almost fainted as he REFUSED, yes outright refused to look at them! Let me say that in the 14 years we have been together he never misses an opportunity to look, in fact sometimes he "creates" opportunities! LOL. Let me say that my bb's. Have been sore for about a week before I noticed this size change.

Well since that night I have noticed my belly has gotten more....fluffy. not noticeable to anyone else, but I can tell. But then again I am about to start in less than a week. I have felt nauseous a couple if times the past few weeks as well. Nothing alarming really I just assumed it was due to sinus drainage due to allergies-they are a pain in Oklahoma almost year round.

Let me tell you about the fatigue! I don't know if it is from allergies, being a teacher and having two young children at home and a husband that is a pilot and barely home...but I am sooo freaking tired! I can take a nap and wake up tired. I can sleep 8+ hours at night and be worn out before I get out of bed. I am slightly anemic so I chalk feeling this way up to this.

At this point I am not concerned about being pregnant, until my DH tells me that my bb's have gotten larger and it has made him worried! It made me worried for about a day now I am excited thinking that I MIGHT be pregnant!! But the reasonable side of me keeps thinking nope you're just doing some wishful thinking. One of my sisters is 36 she started having perimenopausal symptoms around my age.

So my question is, could I possibly be pregnant or is it more likely that I am in the early stages of perimenopause?

Oh and BTW my expected start date for AF is tomorrow, but with my period being all crazy who knows when or if I will start? How long would you wait before taking a test? I have my yearly check up scheduled for the 14th of this month so I will be going to a doctor soon.

Well, I guess it's about how tolerant you are If your AF truly is due tomorrow I guess you could get a positive with FRER. Do you have any idea when you would have O'd? If the breast "enlargement" truly is a symptom of a pregnancy I'd guess you'd be at least 2 weeks from implantation which also would support the fact that you might already get a BFP. However I'm still a bit new to these things so by all means correct me if I've gone wrong at some point

I ovulated on or around the 23rd of April. I haven't started yet, guess I can pick up a test today!

I would definitely pick up a test today. If you ovulated around 23 April you should get a reliable result by now.

Perimenopause is a transition when you ovaries start to slow down, menopause may only "start" 5 - 10 years after this transition. There is still a good chance of fertility during this time.

You can ask the doctor to test your FSH levels merely as an indicator of whether or not this is happening. If I remember correctly it is best to test these levels at day 3 of your cycle.

Good Luck, I hope you get the answers you are looking for

Thanks Laura! I would love to have a happy accident, as this will be the ONLY way I have a third child. LOL

Thank you for the info on perimenopause, I will ask my Dr about the test. I am kinda praying that I don't start late and I am pregnant.... as scary as it is! Yes I want another, but like I said above 3 kids with a husband who is gone a lot... and one of those kids is a WILD child!! <3 Love him though!

All these late periods are so frustrating! It makes me go through this cycle of emotions more than i want One day I am excited about it then I get scared then I get super excited and then utter disappointment...

Definitely test! And post results!

Do you track fertility symptoms at all? My periods have been becoming more regular again, but for 3 years they were all over the place- from 27 to 35 days. It was really frustrating, and every month that I went past 28 days I was flipping out. Once I learned how to track my ovulation, I could tell when I was having a long cycle. If I didn't ovulate until 20 days in, I knew not to expect my period for about 2 weeks from then.

I hope you get the result you are looking for!
