Okay, totally new to this site and totally out of practice with this whole pregnancy thing. I have an almost 7 yo so it's been a while.

So here is the deal. I am 38, my cycle is 29/30 days like clock work. If I remember from long ago I think I ovulate a little late in my cycle. I had unprotected sex on day 18 of my cycle. I thought I had already ovulated the day before based on my CM but not sure. My period should have been due on the 27th if I went 30 days so as far as I know I am 6 days late as of today. I tested on day 1 of being late and again today. Both are negative. No signs of getting my period. I had some cramping on Saturday (4 days late) but didn't get my period. My breasts are so but not really that bad. More just slightly achy. Should I have tested positive by now? I am getting a definite negative. So I am hoping some of you ladies that are more in tune with this can help me out.

Hi! Welcome to JM and AIP! It's entirely possible you just had a rare crazy off cycle. It happens to everyone at some point or another. Could be you O'd really super late. Or it could be you just aren't showing up yet.
Either way, I hope you'll stick around... Get to know the rest of us on the board... And let us know how this turns out for you!

I agree; an off cycle, late ovulation, or you aren't testing + yet. For my first 2 pregnancies, I didn't get any BFP's before 8 weeks pregnant. I actually didn't test positive at all with my first. Just had an inkling then a bad miscarriage. My second went to term. =)

The cramping on sat could have been implantation. After implanting your body produces the hormone the tests are looking for. I would wait another two weeks from sat and test again. Good luck!

I will definitely keep you posted ladies! I can now add headaches to my list of of symptoms, which I ALWAYS get in full force when I get my period, yet no sign of that....sigh....
