It's really not uncommon for a couple to try for 6-12 months and be healthy and fertile. Just that the chances every cycle aren't extremely high and there are a lot of factors involved.
Do you know how many DPO you got the blood test? I got a blood test on 8dpo with my #4, got a BFN.... 3 days later I got a BFP on a urine test. I got the blood test too soon.
If you were due the 8th then you either ovulated late and your period is late also because of that, or you ovulated late and conceived and that is why you are having signs and a negative test because it was too early to get a positive. Or it's possible for some reason you haven't ovulated yet, in that case, keep BD'ing just in case.
