So there is kind of a 50/50 chance that I might be pregnant, and I would like some opinions on if y'all think I am or not. I started taking the pill on June 17, right after my period ended. Not eve 3 weeks later, on June 29, I went to a friends party, got drunk, and my boyfriend and I had an accident. (We didn't use a condom, and he came inside of me.) I've continued to take my birth control, and I started my sugar pills on Sunday, July 8, but have still yet to get my period. Even without the birth control, my period was supposed to come around that time. I'm just kind of at a loss right now because I don't know if my period hasn't come because of the birth control or because I'm pregnant. Also, when will it be sufficient enough time time that has passed so I can do a home test? Thanks in advance for your opinions.
It is unlikely that you are pregnant if you did not miss any pills and you took them at the same time everyday (unless you were on antibiotics.) However there is a small chance of pill failure. That being said if your period is late you should be able to get an accurate result on a test today Hope this helps some. Good luck!
Then your chances are slightly higher. That being said, personally I would test if your period is late the results of a test would be fairly accurate. On a side not, try and get a test with red dye as blue tends to give a lot of false positives. I got my positive this time around on a Walmart 88 cent cheapie and a Dollar store one 21 days after my last period so if you are preggo you should be able to get a positive at this point. If you get a negative and still don't get your period in the 2 days that follow your test then test again, just to be sure.
Also, I feel I should add a little bit more info for others that may want to give their opinions-June was the first time I started the birth control pill ever. It wasn't just me starting for the month-I was starting it, starting it.
ya same thoughts from me too..my body does not take to birth control have no idea why i had my oldest (now13) when i was on birth control. doc said it was not strong enough... so if your questoiin is... can you get prego while on birth contro?l yes you can... definitly and i know plenty of ladies that have.. kup
A lot of time you are still fertile the first month of taking BCP if you are on a low dose one or a progesterone only one. I would test if your period is late and see what happens. Hope you get the answer you want

I would take the test and this way your mind can be at ease. Sometimes heightened worry can hold your period off also, and if this is stressful for you, that may be why??? I know when I've tested before during a time of worry, I would get a negative, and sometimes get my period shortly after. Good luck! Update us later!
If that was your first cycle taking it, and you were not consistent with taking it at the same time, etc., chances are you were still fertile. Of course, only a pregnancy test can tell you for sure. Even if you were fertile, you may not have gotten pregnant.
You are supposed to use a backup method for the first month regardless. A home test at this point will be very accurate especially if you use first morning urine.
Update us when you test!
