Hello I have been having many of the early pregnancy symptoms for the last couple weeks such as nausea, sore breasts, pelvic pain, and bloating.... my period was suppose to come on Feb 12th but it hasn't so i took a dollar tree pregnancy test today which is Feb 13th it had a very faint pinkish line you had to put it in direct light to see it... i asked my mom to look at it to be sure that i wasn't seeing things and she also saw a very faint line...i followed the directions exactly as the box said and checked it within the time frame... i also used first morning urine.. Is there a chance that the test could be giving a false reading or could i actually be pregnant? thanks for your input in advance!

Sounds like a positive to me - the tests are often light to begin with and get darker with time. I would test again today or tomorrow to see if it is getting darker. A pic would be helpful

Best if luck!!!

My doctor said that it may be too early in the game to tell... she asked when i thought it may have happened and she said if i am my baby would only be a little over 2 weeks old and it's not going to show up yet... fingers crossed .. i tried taking a pic of the tests but the line is so faint it doesn't show up in the pics....

^^ The only way you could be 2 weeks pregnant is if you are ovulating... I would request a second opinion from another doctor because you are at least close to 4 weeks after a missed period

with Gamer_Princess, doesn't sound like that Dr knows what they are talking about.

The doctor probably meant 2 weeks from conception. Dollar store tests are notorious for horrible evaps so I would back it up with a First Response, Answer or a digital test. Good luck!

Ditto the other ladies - the doctor didn't do a blood test for confirmation or anything? You would be about 4 weeks - but maybe the doctor did mean 2 weeks from conception but that is a weird way to phrase that. . .

Thanks ladies for all the input ... no the doctor wouldn't do a blood test.. I asked and she said a blood test wouldn't tell which is odd because I've heard a lot of people say that a blood test is how they found out.... I have had a lot of signs even a missed period but she still wouldn't do a blood test...she did tell me to start taking pre natal vitamins though just in case...

I would get a second opinion. I've never heard of a doc refusing to give a blood test. Did she give you a pregnancy test in the office?

A urine test but said it was negative .... she said it was probably just too early in the game to show up.

Maybe try a digital? Even when I've had light lines with dollar store tests, it still came up positive on a digi. Good luck!

Take another test and use abetter brand the doc usually wont do a blood test unless your symptoms persist for a while and you still dont have a positive pee test.
