First of all, I'm a divorced mother of 3 children and I am dating a sweet guy. I am very well aware of how my body works, and for the last couple of years I've had a pretty clockwork cycle that lasts about 26 days. I generally ovulate around day 8-10 after my period begins. All 3 of my children and both of my miscarriages from my previous marriage were conceived around the 8-10 day mark. I know this because all of my pregnancies measured at least a week ahead via ultrasound compared to the normal due date calculator at the doctor's office. I also have all my ovulation symptoms around this time. Last month the man I am dating and I had unprotected sex around day 12. He didn't finish inside me, although I do know you can still get pregnant from pre seminal fluid. I figured I was safe since I was past my normal ovulation date, although I can't say for certain that I remember having my typical O symptoms. We then had unprotected sex again a week later on around day 19 and this time he did finish inside me. I bled, as usual around the same time as my normal period, although it was somewhat less heavy. I am now at about day 18 of what should be my current cycle and I'm having a crazy amount of pregnancy symptoms. My breasts are tender and tingly, I've had to pee more, my face is breaking out when it normally doesn't, I have heartburn which I have never in my life had besides during pregnancy, and I feel very crampy. I've also been feeling more hungry and having headaches like I typically do during my period, although it technically isn't due for another good week or so. I've read online that it is possible to have decidual bleeding around the same time as your period is due. I just don't know what to think, and I don't have many people I feel comfortable talking to about it just yet. I'm sorry if this was TMI or too long, I just remember coming to this board years ago during pregnancy and finding everyone being very helpful and knowledgeable. Obviously I should take a test, which I will sometime tomorrow. But until then I'd appreciate any opinions. thank you for all your help! Oh and I also wanted to add that if I am pregnant, the man I am dating is very sweet and honorable and is stable and would absolutely provide and care for a child if that occurs. Again, thanks for your help!
It's possible that you ovulated late. It certainly sounds like your pregnant, or at least like your body is convinced your pregnant. Only way to know for sure is tests and doctor visits. Or waiting to see if something kicks.
How similar are your symptoms to your previous pregnancies?
The symptoms I'm having now all are a lot like what I had with my 3 children. Especially the cramps and tender breasts. I'm not sure way I'm hoping for yet. Lol but thank you for the reply and the well wishes.
Thank you! I took 2 cheapies today and the results have me ever more confused. I got the first one from the Dollar Store, but I had run in and tested with it at WalMart while getting groceries. The control line took forever to show up, and I chalked it up to a broken test or something so I stuck it in my pocket and bought another $1 test at Walmart. When I got home I did notice a very very faint line. Obviously it was past the time limit at this point. But there was some color to it, and I know evaps aren't supposed to have color. I took the other test and no line showed up. I have no idea if the sensitivity is the same for the two brands. But now just plain confused even more. I'm just gonna wait a few days and maybe take another. I do still have the weird symptoms, but I don't know. Gonna try not to stress till then!
The 1st test you could have taken was more sensitive and it can happen that a positive result can show up a little later. Evaps are rare and are gray in color. Though I would not consider reading it as a positive result. I would though buy a new test (same one) and retest again in the morning with FMU. It sounds like you are possibly pregnant. GL!
