I've had both and don't currently have a gyn. I prefer male doctors. I feel more comfortable with male doctors and I feel weird when I feel a woman's hands touching me. I know that's probably weird but to me it feels awkward. I'm not sure why. I've had women docs I liked so I'm not opposed to them but I usually see a guy doc.
Missing my Mommy Weightloss & Fitness girls. You're the best!
I had a female with my first two, and she was AMAZING. She was even pregnant with me the second time and delivered a month after I did. But she left to practice somewhere else so all we have left here are male gyno's. I've only been to one of the males once for my annual, and wasn't all that impressed. I've heard great things about them from other pregnant women, but nothing could even compare to my female doctor.
I prefer male doctors too. I think it's because my very first experience with a GYN was when I was pregnant with Sarah and she was pretty brutal for a first timer. My current doctor is male and he delivered Daniel and Keelan (and Gabby, too!)
I will only see female gynos. In fact, when I was pregnant my gyno promised she would be there for the delivery even if she wasn't on duty. I went into labor on sunday and had her at 2:23 am monday. My gyno is always off on Mondays but she showed up anyways to deliver. I love her.
ive had both, i see MWs when pregnant and they are all women, but i wouldnt have a problem seeing a male MW if there was one at my practice. For family doctors we used to have a woman, but she retired and now we have a younger guy, i dont really care either way, i dont like the guy as much as i liked our old doctor but i think thats just a personality thing, not gender related.
