Hello! My name is Joy - I'm "almost" 30, and the proud mommy of a beautiful "almost" 5 year old girl. I've heard for years.. "When are you going to have another one," but frankly the thought's been far from my mind up until recently. I had a rough pregnancy the first time around. I was first told I had an ectopic pregnancy, then told I have numerous cysts, then told one of them might be cancerous. The end result was that I spent the first trimester thinking I had ovarian cancer, and then ultimately had to have surgery 13 weeks into the pregnancy. Thankfully everything ended well, but it was still unpleasant enough that I haven't been rushing to possibly go thru that again.

About 2 months ago my husband and I decided to start "trying" again over the next few months. I've been off the pill for about 2 months now, and wouldn't you know.. I've started being super tired and super hungry the last few days. I'm still about 3 days early for my period, but I went and used a First Response test this morning... I got the really really faint second line. I took another test later this afternoon, and the line was much more visible. So I'm thinking.. am I really pregnant again? It seems to have happened so fast!

Just wanted to share and hear the rest of your stories. I'm going to wait and see if AF comes, and if not test again in a few days.

Congrats girl! I agree that you the digital one too! Hearing your story made me that much for excited to test! AF is due at the end of the week but I am trying to hold off. I have had those same symptoms except my boobs haven't been too sore but they didn't get sore with my son until I was about 4-6 weeks along! The thing that has me convinced is the cramping in my abdomen along with some pain/cramping at the very tops of my legs where my legs meet my pelvic area...I had that with my son too. I keep asking myself though if maybe I pulled something while DH and I were BDing this weekend or what? LOL But on top of the cramping, hunger, and tiredness, I have been really irritable.

Anyways, good luck with the next test! Let us know how it goes!!

Used a digital test this morning and got the word "Pregnant". Here's hoping all goes well!

Stupid question- how soon do you call your doctor? With my first one, I went in for cramping/spotting to an ER which spurred the whole monitoring closely thing from there on out, but I know normally it doesn't go that way. Should I wait till AF would've passed just to be sure before calling the doc?

First off CONGRATS GIRL .. H&H 9 Months....

Secondly, every doctor is different! When I found out I was preggo, I called my doctors the next day. They gave me a doctors appointment for 6 weeks away....I was a bit surprised!

I would call and let them know!

Good luck again....Im sooo happy for you!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! i AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU THAT IS WAS SO QUICK!! IT WAS FOR ME TWICE IN A ROW SO YES, YOU ARE SOOO PG!

Ok, so about calling the Dr. I would definitely call asap and make sure you tell them about your past pregnancy problems. They should want to see you sooner than later. I have a good friend who is a retired OB and he told me to switch Dr.s when I told him Dr. #1 didn't want to see me until 10 weeks. Dr. #2 he recommended saw me at 7 weeks. After my loss, Dr. #2 said if I get pg again, to call him and come in immediately to make sure all is well.
You want to find someone who will care about you and your situation and not treat you like a number.

GOOD LUCK AND ALL THE BLESSINGS FOR A HAPPY PG AND HAPPY NEW BABY!!!

Called the doctor--- they figured I'm 4 weeks and are going to have me come in 3 weeks out, which would put me at 7 weeks. They were very nice and said if I had any problems beforehand to let them know.

That sounds reasonable to me since I know heartbeats etc dont appear until after 5 or 6 weeks. I can't imagine they're going to rush out and due all these ultrasounds early on me, just because they probably wouldn't find much. Even if they ordered one at 7 weeks, I'd still be 6 weeks earlier than I had surgery, and given that my surgery last time ended up being unnecessary (due to it being a normal pregnancy cyst), there's no saying they'd choose to do that again anyway.

So I think it sounds right.. does it sound right to all of you?
