I am not completely convinced. I feel more like bronchitis. I have all the symptoms..which are also symptoms of any flu...the doctor said it could be any flu..but likely h1n1. Real scientific.

the baby is not yet sick..knock on wood. I am to keep breastfeeding her so she can get some of the antibodies i produce to fight it.
If the baby gets sick he prescribed an antiviral called tamiflu..it looks scary..espically since he said they dont usually give it to children.

I am not over concerned for my health. when i get sick it is always so mild and quick. But a baby getting any type of illness is so scary.

He said to watch for a fever that may or may not happen, diahrreah..hello she is breastfed..she is always runny frequent poop...crankiness..and throwing up. basically sophia has been showing those symptoms since day one. she seems more cranky tonight then normal. but that could also be in reaction to my hightened stress level. she isnt lethargic..she is eating well..she is sleeping alot more today..but probably becasue i have been feverish..so the warmth puts her to sleep.

Basically i am so confused as to how to proceed. I am so scared we are going to end up in the hospital with her. A 2 month old in london ontario died of the flu a few days ago...

I should have known better then to go around my sister and nephew. they were both on antibiotics for a cough and fever.....I am such a terrible mom

Oh hun, I'm sooo sorry!!! Please take care of yourself!! A friend of mine who just had her baby boy on the 28th was officially diagnosed with H1N1 the day that she gave birth, and baby Ryan was born sick BUT two days later, he was just fine. So I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that Sophia WON'T get sick, but if she does, that she gets over it VERY quickly. And I hope that you get better fast too!!!

Stop! You are NOT a bad mom! Just do whatever the pedi tells you, and keep a close eye on the baby. Maybe get some of those disposable face masks so yoiu won't be breathing the germs directly on Sophia. I am sure everything will be fine.

You are definitely NOT a bad mom. Does Sophie have a fever? If not, then she's most likely fine.

Just drink hot tea and wash all of your dirty clothes, DH clothes, the baby clothes and ALL sheets that you all are using and get a few cans of lysol and Lysol the WHOLE HOUSE (according to the commercial, it get rid of 99.9% of all flu germs, including H1N1)

the saddest thing in the world is when your two month old looks at you and is ready to play shy ive been wearing a face mask..and she is confused. she cant see me smile back at her

DH and i sanitized the rooms we most frequent...i couldnt do them all today...i am having alot of respritory issues....if they continue to get worse im gunna be forced to go to the hospital to get an xray...i get chronic broncitis and am in the high risk category

on the plus sode sophia slept six hours! bno fever or any other symptoms!! she is super happy and aware

Thanks girls!
I found out today that my sister got sick the night before i got sick..meaning we either have two different bugs..or we contracted it from the same place...or just coincidence.
I however am so pissed. my BIL FLIPPED on me through text when i told him i had H1N1..calling the doctor dumb..and telling me to get tested..that he has no sick days left...only concern for himself..then we went on to tell me that it swept through his work..hello..if EVERYONE at work got it..then he would have IF her was going to get it at all...he never warned us that he was exposed to it! i wouldnt be surprised if he is a carrier and gave it to me...he is such an unhygenic person. he know has pink eye..from cleaning his dogs crap..seriously! i better not get that too..jesus

From what I have heard the H1N1 in healthy people is no worse than the regular flu. Of course thinking of an infant with the flu is pretty yucky. They are right though, the best thing you can to is BF her to give her the antibodies. You'd be surprised what your kids don't catch. I dont' think either of my kids have ever caught anything I have brought home, of course I seem to catch what they have.... Your BIL is an idiot

i just left my baby with my mom for the first time EVER! DH and I went to the walk in clinic this morning. we left the house at 7 am. dropped her off with EBM, and a can of forumla JUST IN CASE..she has never had it before..anyways sophia hates bottles..so when we got to the clinic there was already a lineup..and it wasnt opening for another 30 mins! I made it very clear that i had H1N1 though. i had the mask on. Either way i was all but ushered to the front of the line. I was really more worried about leaving my little baby for longer then necessary. The doctor confirmed that i have bronchitis. no way to know if it is secondary to the H1N1..or ive had it all along..they dont seem to want to test me. they are just assuming. which is fine. i have my antibiotics and puffers now. i am satisfied.
I seriously felt like i was faking it though. I fell way to good to be as sick as i am. I am almost constanlty running a fever..when i sleep i wake and there is my body imprint in the bed in sweat..the sheets and pillow cases are changed so often. but as long as i 1. sleep for at least 2 hours or 2. have a relaxing bath i have energy to run circles around DH..who isnt even sick. Seriously, he is passed out becasue he didnt get much sleep last night.

There must be something about being a mom that makes you not feel sickness like you should.

So glad you got what you need to start feeling better!!!

This h1n1 crap is so scary - it seems like everyone either has it or has been exposed to it!

I hope u feel better soon.

Atleast she's confused and not scared of you.
I remember when I was a baby, something happened to my mama, I cant remember, but she was like that for about 2 weeks and she cried b/c I wouldnt go to her for those whole 2 weeks b/c I guess i was scared of her and didnt recognize her. I guess I say that to say although she's confused, at least she's not afraid. Just keep talking to her in that happy tone that she knows
