Hey Missi, sorry - I havent been around much. A few weeks ago this board seemed dead..no one was really posting. Ive been trying to get things ready for Noah's surgery - he's having a cleft palate repair in June and we'v been really busy with dr. appointments - he is also getting tubes put in his ears for on going ear infections....it's been a roller coaster. I'm so sorry if I worried you!!
How are the girls?? How is Calleigh doing?? Noah reflux is alot better. We weaned him off of the Reglan, finally - so he is only on the Prevacid for now, which we are having to keep him on until a few months after surgery. We are doing ok in the reflux department. Get back to me on how the girls are doing. Miss you!!
Calleigh is in the hospital for RotaVirus. She has lost about a pound. She was up to 9lbs and is down to 8 now. We are doing IV for nutrients and having her electrolytes, and all that checked, should be able to go home later today, if they are looking up. She is on pedialyte as tolerated, which she is taking it in fine it just pouring back out the other end as quickly.
Her reflux is controlled well with Prevacid and removing Breastmilk. She was tested and has a complete milk protein allergy so I was to put her on alimentum and then cut it all out of my diet but i didn't want to switch her back and forth so much so we jsut went with the formula. Shes doing well on it before this.
Crystal the big GERDling is doing well as long as we give her nexium daily.
When is his surgery? you'll have to keep me posted and i will pray for a quick and uneventful time for both him and you. Poor bubs i couldn't imagine.
It has been dead in here. I think I am going to find more research and change up the links and that when things calm down here. Some of the information is "old" and new studies etc.
Its probably a good thing that there isn't alot of activity means there arent many suffering so bad. I know i sought other mothers because those without a GERDling had no clue what life was like with Crystal and now with Calleigh
I'm sorry to hear about Calleigh having the Rotovirus - did they never start her on the oral Rotovirus vaccine? It's a newer thing, but I know we administer it to little ones at 4-6wks. Poor baby girl - is she really uncomfortable? Is it affecting her reflux at all?
I'm glad to hear Crystal is doing well. I love your picture that you have....so cute! Keep me posted on the girls.
Noah's surgery is planned for July 12th. So....we are really starting to get stressed, worried, relieved...so many emotions at once. I'm sure my body is wondering what is going on right now.
Yeah - the fact that the board is slow is a catch 22 isnt it? But I am happy if it means less kiddos are having Reflux. Woohoo. Miss talking with you!
