My little girl was born in April 09 and has been on the AR formula with added rice ceral since the first week we came home from the hosp. She is also on prevacid (zantac doesn't work). Her acid reflux has gotten a lot beter. I am not sure when I need to actually start feeding her rice ceral (from a spoon). She will be four months this month and most books say to start then but she was born 3 1/2 weeks early (36 weeks prego). Should I wait a few weeks since most books say premies are a little slower developmentally. What sign should I look for before I begin feeding her ceral? Her doc says to be sure she can sit up right and hold her head up, which I think she does good. She sits up in one of the bumbo seats and plays. She is 10 pounds now!

Any advice would help

I guess I am new school and don't give babies that young cereal. Heck I didn't ever give my oldest cereal, we went straight to real food right before 6 months. Of course if its medically needed then go for it. But if she is doing good on her cereal in the formula I personally would not give more

Our pedi had us start feeding Drew cereal from a spoon at 4 mos since he was expressing interest in what we were eating. She told us to continue to put the cereal in his bottle as well.
