Oh my goodness, how long has this board been up, I didn't know there was a reflux board!
I'm Angela 33, and I have four kids (five if you count dh ) my youngest, Ava is 5 mo and she has reflux and is getting over her colic. None of my other kids had reflux, so the only thing I do is invest in a lot of cloth diapers to use as burp rags and do tons of laundry.
The pediatrician has stated I can put Ava on meds but she said she's growing great (she's 75 percentile for weight and height) and that she's also overeating.
welcome, I am a lurker normally, but I thought I would say hi.
As far as meds go, no med will stop the spitting up. The meds are to stop the acid from hurting. If she is in pain, then I would demand some meds as if they don't have it, theya re constantly burning their esophagus and it will cause permenant damage.
also as far as weight goes, many reflux babies gain weight just fine. Its called silent reflux, they spit it up but swallow it back down. It actually is worse as they are getting the burn twice
Hey Ange! I didn't know Ava has reflux...Landon does too. If she's spitting up maybe
talk to your pedi about options. I know Ava is breastfead so it's not like formula feeding like Landon. We do thickened feedings there must be options for breastfed babies?!
