Hi Ladies I am Kary, I have twin girls that are 8 months old.. I have one very happy spitter.. and One very, not so happy medicated LO. My Julia is taking zantac... and up until about 4-5 weeks ago she was doing "alright"... I have a visiting nurse that comes out... and she had a HUGE growth spurt.. 1lb 1/2 and two inches! But now I think the .8ml daily is not enough! I just called the Dr to see if maybe we can bump it up. She was 13lbs 4oz on the 4/27 and she is 8 months old as of 5/15.

She is now crying during feeding, or right after while still laying flat (since her sister is still nursing) Until I hold her straight up. She wants to be held 24/7. She was sleeping flat (still getting up every 2-2 1/2 to nurse) But now when I put her down she is ok for a little bit but than wakes up back arched crying. I feel so bad for her! She is not tolerating being on the floor (belly time) She is not rolling (her sister has been rolling for 2 1/2 - 3 months now)

Does any of this sound famliar?

Thanks Kary

how are her poops? If she's still nursing, are her poops the normal breastfed yellow? I'm just wondering if there's not somehting more than just reflux. Have you eaten anything weird? Increased dairy intake?

Her poop.... Well somedays it looks like BF, some days it it very watery (I did let her Dr know.. But since it is not all the time she wasn't too concerned ) and than others... it is clay like. I think it also depends on what "solids" they have eaten.

I think I will start doing a food journal, to see how she responds to what I eat. I haven't increased anything... I pretty much eat the same things everyday.

Typical day staples... One glass of milk with Carnation instant breakfast, 1 cup (sometimes 2 cups) coffee, Prenantal vitamin, a few spoonfuls of Peanut butter. lunch is usually leftovers from the night before dinner (meat loaf, chicken, pork chops, pasta, or beef... ) and than dinner.... Pretty boring. Right? Anything that throws up flags?

For a lot of babies with reflux there needs to be a 2 medication rotating schedule. If the zantac worked well until recently try pepcid and se if that works. Little systems can adjust to medications much faster than adults so the meds don't offer the same relief.
