We took DS into the pedi on Friday due to major fussiness and spitting up a lot. They think it's Colic and he has reflux. They put him on Prevaci. Last night went so much better but still had some issues. I know it can take a week or so to see real results. The pedi said that on day 4 that I should take out dairy in my diet and try a different formula like Similac soy, Similac Alimentum or Enfamil Premium. ( I do half BF and half FF). I'm not sure which I should try first and how long I should wait to see results.

I was also told to try Gripe water. SO far I have been doing that 3 times a day in the bottle. Should i do that different or not at all?

If he thinks it is a milk problem I would avoid soy. The proteins are very similar and if a child can't digest or tolerate one then they likely can't tolerate the other either. I would try one that has the proteins broken down or something like that. We were always told to wait for 2 weeks after switching formulas unless Danny got worse. We never used gripe water so I can't help there... I hope the other helps though...

You need to give the prevacid 4-6 weeks to work. Alimentum worked great for my DS. Just don't change the formula over and over, or things will be worse. Gripe water is ok, but I had more success with the "Colic calm" product. *hugs*
