Did you find that when you started your child on solids the reflux got significantly better? Our pediatrican tells us that Jacob will grow out of the reflux once he gets to the age where he takes solid food...for some reason I'm not buying it....lol

I don't think it helped my son at all. His spitting up did decrease when we started solids at 6 months, but I think it was just his natural progression towards a healthier digestive system. 6 months is about the age when reflux starts to improve anyway, so I don't think it had anything to do with solids.

That hasn't been our experience at all. We started solids at 6 months and the reflux is just as active now (at 8 months) as it always has been. I was really hoping he'd outgrow it by now. Sometimes it seems I spend half my day doing laundry or spot-cleaning the carpets.

Then again, I was also told 'most' babies will show signs of improvement when they start sitting on their own - something my little guy still refuses to do.

Honestly I see no change, and Christian has been on solids for two weeks now. We were actually told that we could discontinue the AR and switch to regular formula, but I did that and WOW he has been puking everywhere!! Doc told us that the reflux is its worst when they hit 4 months, so hopefully it gets better from here on out.

I havent noticed a change in the reflux since we started solids at all.. but we've only been on solids for about 3 weeks. He still gets oatmeal in his bottle too.

Our reflux got significantly worse at about 3 months. We tried to change meds to Tagament but that didnt work AT ALL.. we switched back to Zantac and changed the dosing schedule and that seemed to work.
