Hi my name is Amanda. I have 4 kids 2 that have dealt with reflux. My 4 year old out grew it by 6 months but my 2 year old wasn't as lucky. Amelia had her first Fundo at 10 months of age. She could not gain wieght even with a NG tube. They did place a g-tube at that time and right now she is tube fed 16 hours a day. We had to redo her Fundo and repair a hiatal hernia last march(7 months after the first one). Amelia had RSV and the severe coughing and retching, she can't throw up or even burp wih the Fundo, it caused her wrap to come undone. So far we are doing better all though she is showing signs of reflux again.

HI my name is Tesse. 1st time mommy to Riley, he is 3 1/2 months old. He has had reflux since birth. He was finally diagnosed at 7 weeks old. He was on Zantac, but his Specialist recently switched him to Axid. He was on breast milk for 8 weeks, then put on Enfamil, then switched to Alimentum... none of which seemed to help and now he is on Ele-Care. His doctor said we're trying that for 1 week and if he's no better then he's gonna be put in the hospital to determine the next plan. I'm scared and just wish my baby was okay. If anyone has experinced any of this and can help me know what to expect in the future it would be helpful.

Hi, everyone! I'm Stacey and ds is James. He's 25 months old and hasn't officially be diagnosed yet. He started Prevacid 10 days ago and we noticed a dramatic change in him 3 days ago!! I believe he's had reflux since at least 6 months of age but he never showed symptoms. When we tried to introduce solids, he would never them until 22 months old and even then he could sometimes go a week with no solid food. Since being on the Prevacid, he's eating like crazy and is absolutely giddy about it. I never realized before that he was never happy while eating. He's also far less whiny between meals.

Hi everyone, my daughter Avery was born in March 06 and was diagnosed two months later. We've been on Zantac, Mylanta, Prevacid and infant Pepcid PM. Probably more to add to that list soon My elder daughter never had these issues, so this is a whole new world for us. Glad to meet you all.

My name is Amanda and all my boys have had reflux. Two of them (my 3 year old and one of my twins) outgrew it around a year. Gavyn, however, is still dealing with it. The twins were born at 35 weeks. Both had never even been on the growth chart and had trouble gaining weight until their 18 month appt. They are now officially in the 25th percentile for weight! Gavyn has always been about a pound or two behind Kendric. However, in the last few months they have evened out and are now both right around 23 lbs. and 30 in. Gavyn has been on Zantac since he was 3 months. He will still throw up a few times a week (which is worse now since he has been on solids for awhile), although the Zantac helps.

My name is Tammy. My son is Nathan and he was born April 20, 2007. We found out about his reflux when he was 2 1/2 mos. One of my dd had it, but she didn't seem to be in pain with it. She just vomited alot and wanted to b'feed a lot. She wasn't really fussy and was gaining weight fine so her docs said she'd outgrow it and she did. So I've really been trying to learn about this. Nathan has silent reflux and now that I'm learning more about it, I realize he's had symptoms for awhile, but it just recently started making him an unhappy baby. He's usually very happy and content. His doc has him on zantac and he's been on it for about almost 3 weeks. He had been doing much better, but he seems to be having some issues again so we'll see......

I'm Chelsie and my baby boy, Jensen has reflux. Although looking back, I'm pretty sure he's had it since birth, he was not diagnosed until his 2mo check-up. He was started on Axid, but we are in the process of switching to Zantac because Axid is so expensive.

We are also trying other things with him along with the meds. He has an elevated mattress and we are making sure not to lay him flat after feedings. I've also cut dairy out of my diet (I'm EBF). I wasn't told to do this but I figure it can't hurt.
