I applied for a high school teaching job last week and asked my principal for a letter of recommendation. He gave me one, and I got the official email for an interview a few days ago. I did not tell my principal because last time he bugged me about it over and over. I was trying to save myself some grief Anyway, he called me yesterday, woke Emily up, and basically sent her into a screaming fit where she couldn't calm herself down because she was scared to death when the phone rang (she was really out of it!). So he asks me (while Emily is screaming in my ear) when my interview is. I never told him I had one, and I DIDN'T have one at the time I asked for my letter of recommendation. So how did he know??? I didn't tell anybody about the interview, didn't post anything on Facebook, etc. I told DH, and he said maybe she went ahead and called him for a reference. I said I had never heard of people calling references BEFORE the interview. He thought maybe she is seriously interested and is pretty sure she will hire you anyway. My interview is Monday, and it would kind of make sense for her to call him on Friday before the interview. Unless he just assumed I had one, I don't know how he would know otherwise.
I didn't want to sound sneaky and ask how he knew, and the call ended pretty quickly because of her screaming the whole time, but does this sound like a good thing? Anybody have a clue about this stuff??
