Are your kids allowed to have them in class?

Yes, as long as it's water. No Gatorade or drinks like that.

Yes. I have a sink in the back of the room that we don't really use. To turn the water on you have to hold the lever on and it really splashes. But it is the perfect place to hold our water bottles. I do not allow them on their desks because wer uses our desks for centers and other kids will be sitting in your desk. I have tried the shelf but the bottles kept getting taller and taller and they had to lay them down which led to leaking. The kids have to ask to go to the back of the room to drink from their water bottles - this helps with the over drinking and the extra bathroom breaks. It really works for us.

I LOVE that idea. Right now, my kids are allowed to have them whenever on their desks...but they are always flying off when they open them, spilling, getting kicked over, and so on. I think I'm going to ask them to keep them on the back counter and they can get a drink during transitions.

No but I have a water fountain in my room and give multiple water breaks throughout the day. I can just imagine my K students spilling water all over their desks!
