I've been FB "friended" for the 1st time by one of my students! I haven't responded yet, but I'm leaning toward not approving it. It's weird though, b/c both of her parents are my facebook friends (both have worked in our school district) so I'm sure she can search my profile all she wants through theirs.

It's crazy that my little 2nd & 3rd graders from my first few years of teaching are now in high school and on FB!

If she's not a current student, then I think it's fine. Our principal told us not to accept any friend requests from students, and to tread carefully with parents.

Idk what I'd do cuz I don't teach elementary, when I teach I'm in middle or high school, so my rule has always been if I do see one of them add me I would send them back a message that says "Not til you're 18 and a high school graduate."

Our principal hasn't had a facebook talk with us, probably b/c I do teach elementary. She's still "pending" on my FB and I'm going to leave it at that for now.

I'm friends with several of my current students' parents, but I also see them outside of school in passing at church.
