I am not in a school at the moment, I'm a sub. TBH Dr Seuss, while popular for home reading, is not big in schools over here really.

We had Thing 1 and Thing 2 in the building causing trouble on Friday. The silly-stringed the principal during the video announcements and then visited each classroom causing trouble and kissing teachers. The kids LOVED it!

We had our monthly celebration assembly - thing 1 and 2 and Dr. Seuss read off the reading awards for the month. The Jr. High students came and read aloud to the PK, K and 1st grade classrooms. In my classroom we have been doing so much Dr. Seuss stuff that I am starting to speak in rhyme. I think our book count is up to 15 Dr. Seuss books read aloud. We made truffula trees and the Lorax. I made probably 15 different centers and we had a parent activity where the kids cut up money cards to go with a Cat in the Hat game board.

We read a ton of books, did several writing activities, and had a read-in. Our reading teacher hid Dr. Seuss pictures around the school for kids to find and they got Dr. Seuss pencils for turning them in. It was fun!
