Does your district offer paid summer hours for working on anything (like curriculum, planning, etc.)? If so, do you take advantage of it?

I wish! If they did, I would do it. In a previous district, I always worked in the summer on curriculum development. Loved getting that extra money throughout the summer!

No - only teaching summer school. It just isn't possible for me. Not worth the time and money after paying for childcare and driving to town. Also it during June which is when I am shuttling my boys to camps and going to baseball games and VBS. Just isn't time for WORK. LOL

We can get special approval to do different projects and get paid (it's not great pay at all, but at least it pays my gas to get there!). I worked on a phonics project and a PBIS project this summer for just a couple hours each. I would go in a couple hours early each time and work in my room...that's a never ending project!!
