Does your district do early release (1/2 day) days? If so, what do you do those days...is it an inservice or work time?

We do it twice a year, and the afternoons are spent in workshops. I am asking for release time once a month so that my grade level colleagues and I can work on unit planning and data analyzation. Not sure they'll give it to me, but heck, if they want us to do it, they should give us time! LOL!

Elementary lets out early every morning and teachers have team meetings each week.
