Does your school have any part time positions at all? Would you consider going part time if you could?

I don't think my district has it other than shared positions, where a teacher holds two different positions or is at two different schools. I wouldn't go part time at this stage of my life. When my kids were babies I longed for such an arrangement.

I am part time. I teach every other day. We have a block schedule, and I teach over half-time, no prep, all day teaching, and then all day off the next day. Sometimes I sub on A days (I teach B days).

I am actually trying to see if my district will create a part-time (three full days a week) position for me. The other two days I would work as a regional staff development trainer. Not sure it's going to actually work out, but I'll never know if I don't try!

Well, at least I tried! LOL! My superintendent does not feel the district could create a part-time position for me, so full-time in district is where I will stay. I am happy either way; I love what I do!

It's always worth trying!! I was trying to do a 70%ish intervention type job for next year - but it was given to somebody who has to be part time for medical reasons.

With the baby on the way, I would really like to do something part time. I feel like I missed a lot of DS's early life with working so much.

I wish this was an option. I don't know of any part timers but if I saw an open position for one I would jump on it.

Being part time this year so I could spend more time with my tiny Terra, was so amazing. I'll miss it next year but we need full-time income.
