So I just found out we are expecting number 5, a bit of a shock. I am currently subbing at my kids school. I work almost every school day. I am also in school for teaching (only two semesters left). Today I did K which involves a lot of bending to tie shoes to explain something, to get on their level ect. Made me wonder, how hard is it to continue to teach once you are big and pregnant? I am fine now obviously but at what point is it going to start killing me? Any tips?

When I was pregnant the last times I taught self contained special education kindergarten and had a full time assistant, who did have lunch duty.

You start sitting more and get the kids who can do things help the others.

By the end I wasn't tying shoes. The 1-3 kids would could tie would do it for everyone. My assistant was an older woman who did not need to be bending down every 5 minutes dealing with shoes. My standards went down, too. The kids could just tuck in the laces if they were continually coming up done. There would be a proper shoe tie from we went to the playground.

You sit down and the kids come to you! I can't say that one enough.

Good advice! I am very very hands on, I guess as I start getting bigger I will have to start sitting more. I swear now the only time I might sit is when the kids are in some enrichment. Even then I might be walking around getting ready for the next activity. I might have to start fazing that in now lol!
