So glad we haven't had to miss any days due to weather! We have extra built in days during the year but they were all over with by the start of January, as we'd normally miss because of hurricanes. We would loose our planning days if we had to make up now.
Mom to 4 girls - one age 9 (January 2005), 7 year old twins (January 2007) and new baby girl born July 2, 2014
We haven't had any this year even though there were a couple days when we should have. But then it just boils down to deciding whether you want to travel in those conditions or not. Last year we had...one or two. They didn't extend the school year for that. It's been a weird winter.
I've always wondered how "snow days" would affect the school calendar. I'm from San Diego, and we have been on the opposite side of the weather spectrum with 80 degree weather through the winter! It sounds like fun but you do get sick of the heat, and with this drought I'm afraid we will have some serious wildfires next fall. Although I'm totally not complaining, I'll take warm over freezing any day. Hang in there Teacher Mamas!
