I have a question for you ladies,
while breastfeeding (those who have gotten AF) how regular are your cycles???

I got my first period in January. Marilyn was born in September. She is *almost* 7 months old as of today.

For 2 months prior to my first AF I was having PMS type symptoms for a couple of days and felt as if AF was about to arrive any minute (which she never did). Both times this happened they were 32 days apart.

Between my first and last period there was 38 days. That was right after Valentines Day. I have not yet had another period. My hormones are going crazy and I'm not sure what is going on.

I'm hesitant to test (those tests get expensive!!!) and I will definitely wait another couple of weeks for AF to test.

I exclusively breastfeed although she is at daycare a couple times during the week for up to 5 hours. I am lazy about feeding her solids and I cosleep.

How long did it take for your cycles to become regular?

Any advice would be well appreciated!

Thank you!

It took quite a while. Unfortunately, especially in the first year, *anything* can go!

Something similar happened to me. I felt PMS 2 months prior to AF. Then, I got AF exactly 5 months after DD was born. The following month I was 2 weeks late (I'm usually a strict 28 to 30 day cycle). I was afraid I was PG again! Then the next month it was back on track. It took a couple cycles to adjust. Now, it's like clockwork again.

Your cycles can be very irregular while breastfeeding. Mine went from regular to irregular after several months, so anything can happen!

Were any of you on the mini pill? Just wondering if the mini pill helps regulate even while bf'ing.

I am wondering when the old hag is going to show up for me. I am starting to feel the same crampiness talked about here. I hope she holds out a little longer!

My cycles were crazy when I was bfing. They ranged from 30 days to 50 some days. I took a few hpt and all negative. It can be very frustrating, but very normal.

It has been 45+ days for me now and I took another HPT and still negative. Thanks for the responses ladies. I guess I'll just have to wait this one out!
