I have been breastfeeding for about a week and a half and I have noticed that my baby nurses "better" off of my left breast. I usually do the cross cradle hold on each side. When she nurses off the left side, she latches on good and doesn't usually come off my breast during the entire feeding. Now when she nurses off the right side, she is constantly coming off of it. Do you think it's because the way I am holding her head? Maybe it's because I'm using my left hand? I don't know!

i've heard that babies can "favor" one side over the other. i'm not sure if there is anything you can do to make her not come off as much. i'm sure someone else has some advise though.

I am right handed and had a lot of trouble with the right side at first too. It was akward, but we did it and now it is better. She still seems to lay more tward her back when we do the left side, but it works.

Its definitely possible & pretty common.

Try a football hold on the right side and see if that helps

I have a similar problem. She pulls off more on the right, but I think thats because my right produces way more than the left. I could feed her on my right before bed at 10pm, last feeding on left at 8pm, and by 4am my right side is engorged and the left is still "squishy". But then again, its the left that sprays in three different directions when she lets go and the right doesnt really spray at all, so I dont know I don't think she has a preference for side, I think shes just happy as long as she has a boob in her face

It's possible she favors the one side. It's not uncommon for most new mother's to experience similiar behavoir though, and it's hard to say why they do that. It's something they usually outgrow by a few weeks though.

My LO definitely likes one side over the other. I think it is because my right is easier to nurse from. My left side seems to be low flow high pressure and I have squirted her in the eye a few times, lol.

My Sebastian likes the left side more too but i think its because i use the cross cradle hold to latch him on and am not as coordinated with my left hand while holding him. He does like to pull off every once in a while and its usually because he has to burp.

Daniel has a definite preference as well. My LC suggested trying a football hold for the side he is not as fond of, and when we did it today, the amount he popped off the unfavored side dropped a LOT. Like you, I started doing a cross cradle on both sides, and he would pop off a LOT on the one side in that position.
