So I seem to have a blister on my nip.. last night when I was nursing it hurt a bit, it felt like he was sucking REALLY hard. After he was done I looked and noticed a small blister/bump. Is this caused by a poor latch or what?
mama to 5 yr old DS1 , 3 year old DS2 , and nursling DD .
I'm not 100% what causes them, but I've gotten them every few months since DD was born. Since I get them so often, I've learned it's easiest to pop it myself and I'll be pain-free much quicker. I usually steralize a needle and put just a tiny hole in it, enough to release whatever is in it. After that, it will usually heal and the pain will go away in a few days. If I try to let it pop on it's own, it takes much longer. Here's what Kellymom.com has on them: http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mom/nipplebleb.html
